Blog Award

The rules for this award are:
1 . When you have received this award you must thank the person that awarded you the award in a new post.
2 . Name 10 things that make you happy.
3 . Pass this award onto 10 bloggers and inform them.

I got my first blog award yesterday! Thank you Robin. You should visit her blog, The Hanlon Family. She has two really cute little girls.

So here are 10 things that make me happy.
1. My husband. He is always making me laugh about something. Like last night when we were talking about an Easter Egg Hunt we are having. I was saying that I was gonna have real and plastic eggs. Ken said, Anna you can't have real eggs they will bust and egg will get all over their baskets. Really Ken. Not raw eggs...boiled eggs. Now we know where Ella gets it from :)
2. My children, of course.
3. Sewing. I have always known how to sew, but I just haven't put it to use in many years. I have just finished matching outfits for Ella and Olivia.
4. When kids say funny things. The other day a little girl in my class said "my mom killed the eggs", after further discussion I figured out that what she meant to say was that her mom dyed the eggs, you know for Easter.
5. Taking pictures. I am by no means a professional, but I do enjoy learning little bits here and there. My brother is way better than me and he has been teaching me a little. You should check him out here.
6. Hamburgers. Not just any hamburgers. My dad's hamburgers. They are so juicy and flavorful. We have them once a week, usually on Monday. Ella calls them Poppop's famous hamburgers. So yummy.
7. Kentucky losing last weekend! I think the only thing that could have made me happier would have been seeing them win the whole thing and then getting it stripped away several months later for cheating. I might be a little bitter.
8. When I am folding socks and all of them have mates.
9. Shopping. I have to admit that I always feel good when I shop. Even if I return everything I bought I still feel happy.
10. A clean house. The smell of cleaning products and being able to walk in sock feet without your socks turning black is so nice.

I am passing this award to:
1. Lindsey at The Rowland Family
2. Kelly at The Stockdale Family
3. Maegan at The Pairs
4. Ashlee at Workman Witticism's
5. Erin at A Dozen Blue Daisies

I guess I am breaking the rules here because I don't really know anyone else to pass the award to. Oops.

Tunica

Ella: What are we gonna do on Friday when we are out of school.
Me : I don't know. I was kinda wanting to go to Tunica.
Ella: Oh no Momma! You don't need to go to Tunica. God doesn't want you to go there. I have seen the commercials and they take your money there.

If you don't know, Tunica is in Mississippi and they have a lot of casinos. They also have an outlet mall with a Gap. I was meaning that I wanted to go shopping and Ella thought I was gonna take us all to the casinos. I am glad that she knows that casinos take your money. Some adults might need to learn that lesson.

Botanic Gardens

A few days ago my friend Shea asked me if I would go with her to Botanic Gardens to take some spring pictures of her kids. Neither one of us had been there in years, and we were so surprised at how kid friendly it has become. If you haven't been in a while you should definitely check it out. Emerson is at the age where she doesn't want to sit still so I was trying to hit a moving target all morning and Landon is just all boy. I hope I got something that she will like.

You know I wouldn't go to a beautiful place to take pictures and not sneak in some of my own kids.

Olivia was in such a good mood today. How could you not love this face?

Ella found this rock and thought it was a good place for a picture.

The kids really had a good time. We will have to visit again soon.

I "heart"...

I am participating in this weeks I "heart"... at You and Me Plus Three. Go there now to add yours and read others!!

I "heart" that spring is finally here and the flowers are beginning to bloom.

I "heart" Olivia blowing kisses.

I "heart" the good doctors report my dad received.

I "heart" hearing Ella sing "Mamaw and Papaw feed each other because they are a happy couple". She made this up while watching Papaw help Mamaw eat and has been singing it ever since. She has also been singing a Taylor Swift song, she gets most of the words wrong, but I still like to hear her sing it (we put it on her itouch, maybe she will learn the right words now).

I "heart" that my brother and his family are moving back to Memphis. Please pray for them as they start a new church.

I "heart" sewing, or trying to sew.

I "heart" Starburst jellybeans. I think I have eaten 3 bags this month.

Happy Anniversary

Ken and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary today. Ken brought me lunch (Lenny's philly chicken w/ranch...yummy) and my mom made a huge dinner tonight. I thought it might be fun to post some of our wedding pictures (I don't have a scanner, so these are pictures of pictures). We looked so much younger and thinner 7 years ago.

I really liked my dress. Ella always tells me that when she gets married she will wear my dress. We'll see if she still feels that way in 30 years when we let her get married.

My dad performed the ceremony, after he walked me down the aisle. It was very sweet, I think almost everyone was crying.

The whole wedding was "homemade". Me and my mom made the centerpieces, a family friend made the bridesmaids dresses, my Aunt Betty made the cake, my mom's sisters did all the food, and family members and friends provided the music.

When it was time for us to leave we could not find the car keys. My brother had moved the car around earlier for us, but then had to leave (we got married on a Sunday and he had to lead worship at his church). We thought that maybe he had taken them on accident, but we couldn't get him on his phone (duh, he was leading worship). We kept searching and eventually found them. When we finally left, we had to turn around and go back because we had forgotten to sign the Marriage License. It wasn't funny then, but now I can laugh about it...a little. I still lose my keys every day and I still try to blame it on someone else.

Happy Anniversary Ken!

Louisville

We have had a fun trip visiting family this weekend. I was really trying to get a good picture of my Mamaw with Ella and Olivia. This was the best I could get.

I love my Mamaw. When we were young she would make matching clothes for everyone, including our Barbies. She has alzheimers now and is no longer able to sew, but I will always remember all of the special things that she made for us.

Ella enjoys coming to Louisville because she gets to play with her cousin Emily (really my cousin). It was beautiful outside today so we decided to go to the park.

Then we headed back to Mamaw and Papaw's house to play with bubbles...

and bowls.

My Great Grandmother (Granny Fannie) passed away recently (she was 99) and my Papaw received several of her belongings. This was a butter churner that she had, the date on it is February 14, 1922 ( I can't imagine keeping something that long). We obviously didn't need to churn butter with it, so we made milkshakes. Maybe we should have taken it on Antique Roadshow, oh well, we might as well use it.

My Papaw is the busiest man I know. Not only does he care for my Mamaw, but he also has several rental houses (and is almost always looking for another one) that he keeps up with. He is always doing something. Right now he is getting ready to build an elevator in his house because it is hard for my Mamaw to use the stairs. Did I mention that he built their home and has added 2 storage buildings and a pool house. Yes, he is the hardest working man I know and he loves my Mamaw with his whole heart.

10 Months

Olivia is 10 months old today! She is busy cutting her 6th tooth and talking a lot. She can say dada, mama, Ella, dog, uh-oh, hi, bye and something that sounds like eieio from "Old McDonald". She is such a happy girl. She is eating lots of table food now and really likes spaghetti. She is starting to let go when standing, I know it won't be long until she is walking. We are still working on staying out of the dog food and the toilet. I think Olivia might be a little bit stubborn, hmmm, wonder where she got that from?
