Busy Week

Last week was so busy. We rearranged every room of our house except for our bedroom. We also had a showing this week, the first since around Easter. Plus I have been sewing some outfits for Ella, Olivia and Ella's doll. Then on top of all that Ella had 2 dance rehearsals downtown and her recital. Here are some pictures from the recital.

Her group danced twice in the show. Their first song was "Hunka Burnin' Love". It was really cute because they had a boy in the class so all the girls got to dance around him. The second song was "Radio City Music Hall"("Sing A Little Song Of Christmas"). Not my favorite, but it was still cute. I especially liked the pillbox hat.

Every time I would try to take a picture of Olivia she would look down. She is becoming a little bit stubborn :)

Hope everyone has a good week.

Olivia's Party

Today we celebrated Olivia turning one by having a party at a local park. Even though it was oh so HOT, I think everyone still had a good time. I found some cute daisy invitations last year and just knew Olivia's 1st birthday would have a daisy theme. I had so much fun planning this party.

This post has a ton of pictures, but it was Olivia's special day, and I like to take pictures, so sorry.

I (not actually me) hung some rope and used clothes pins to hang pictures from the last year.

The party favors. I copied this from something I saw on another blog. The picture says "Plant One...On Me" and Olivia has lip prints on her cheeks. I put some potting soil and a packet of daisy seeds (of course) in the little pot. I really like how they turned out.

I found these on clearance at Michael's and thought they would be perfect. I (not actually me) hung them from a rope down the middle of the tables.

I also made the cake. It was not as smooth as I would have liked, but it was so yummy (if I do say so myself).

After Easter, Target put these daisy hats on clearance (a quarter each). We used them for party hats.

The birthday girl.

She agrees about the cake.

Cousins and friends.

She agrees about the cake too!

Ella was so sweet and helpful. After everyone sang Happy Birthday, Ella sang a special birthday song that she learned at school. She also helped Olivia open all of her gifts. She is a great big sister.

Happy Birthday Olivia! We love you.

I told you there would be a lot of pictures :)

Last Day Of Kindergarten

Okay, I have to admit that I have been very sad this week. I am sure it's a combination of Olivia turning one and Ella finishing Kindergarten. I just feel like my babies are growing up too quickly. I wasn't sad when Ella started school. I guess because I was excited for her and I just knew that her teacher would be great.

This is Ella's first day of Kindergarten.

On our way to school.

Ella and Mrs. C on the first day.

Ella and Mrs. C on the (almost) last day.

The class made this canvas for her. We also gave her gift cards to Jim and Nicks and the movies.

Do you see why we love her so much. She is so fun and energetic. She has taught Ella more than just reading and writing, she has taught her lesson's that she will carry with her the rest of her life. Ella's future teachers have big shoes to fill.

And this is Ella today...the last day of Kindergarten :(

On our way to Kindergarten for the last time.

We stopped to get Mrs. C a cinnamon swirl. We tried to bring her breakfast or a treat at least once a week. We will miss her so much. Who knows maybe she will decide to teach 1st grade next year.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Mrs. C gave that red/white/blue dress to Ella. She is so sweet!

One Year Ago

It is hard to believe that it has been a year since we welcomed Olivia into our family. I thought I would share some pictures from her birthday last year.

1 Year Old!

Today Olivia turned 1, yay! Too bad she was running a fever and had to go to the Doctor.

To help make her feel better we went to GiGi's after her Doctor's appointment.

And got some of these yummy cupcakes.

Olivia weighs 20 pounds and I am sure she is gaining weight rapidly based on the amount of food she eats. She will eat about anything you give her. Some of her new favorites are raisins, carrots, ice cream, vanilla wafers, cereal bars and eggs. Olivia is a pro at drinking from a cup, no bottles for this girl. She likes to drink apple juice and whole milk. She is talking more and more everyday and already has great manners (she always says thank you). Olivia can stand for a long time now and has taken several steps. She loves it when Ella plays with her and reads to her. She loves to look for dogs and bark when she sees one. We love her so much and we are so proud to be her parents.

Olivia is having her birthday party on Sunday, but we celebrated tonight by going to Cracker Barrel for dinner. We probably should have stayed home since she wasn't feeling well, but you only turn 1 once, right.

Besides the cupcakes are supposed to make her feel better :)
