Happy Halloween!

This year Ella wanted to be Little Red Riding Hood and I thought it would be cute if Olivia was The Big Bad Wolf dressed like Grandma. It was a lot of work, but here are the finished costumes.

Ella felt like she should make an "I'm scared of the wolf face" in all the pictures.

I think these are my favorite costumes so far and the look on Ella's face when she saw the finished product made it all worth it (even the staying up till 4:30 in the morning part).

Honor Roll and Tutu Cute

First of all Ella made Principal's Honor Roll and got Perfect Attendance for the first grading period. We couldn't be prouder!

And I couldn't leave out this cutie. This week she has learned to throw a temper tantrum and has been exercising her right to do so! Although you can't tell from these pictures.

Where did my gourd go?

Oh, here it is!

We are almost ready for trick or treating, just a few things to finish up on their costumes (like making a shark look like a wolf, you will understand later). Ella is so excited about all the candy!

Something's Missing

Can you figure out what it is?

Go ahead, look a little closer...

Yep, that's right. Ella lost her first tooth today!

Ella told me that her kindergarten teacher was the best tooth puller and that when she saw her after lunch today she asked her if she would pull it. The teacher said that she wouldn't pull it, she would yank it, and she did. Ella couldn't be happier!

Pumpkin Patch

Last Sunday we visited our favorite Pumpkin Patch. My sister and her husband were able to come with us and we had such a good time. Brace yourself for lots of pictures.

We had fun riding ponies, petting the animals, riding a train, watching pig races, going on a hayride, walking through the pumpkin patch, going through the corn maze and just being with each other.

These pictures were from our trip to the pumpkin patch last year. It makes me sad to see how big they have gotten in just a year.

17 Months

How is it possible that this little baby is now 17 months old?

Olivia is growing up to be such a sweet little girl. She is almost always happy and easy going. Some of her favorite words right now are eat, mom, dad, Bekah, Ella (she says this all the time!), duck, stinky (she says this every time she poops), toes, yellow, thank you, and cracker. She also likes to say 1,2,3 GO as she throws something. She has learned to point out her body parts (eyes, ears, nose, hair, teeth, tongue, mouth, arms, hands, fingers, leg, toes, feet and tummy). She likes to climb up into Ella's chairs and onto her table. She likes to write (scribble) and color. She really likes to be outside. She gives lots of kisses and will even give big hugs now too! She is at a really fun age where it seems like she learns something new everyday!

On another note, Ella had Farm Friday last week at school. We measured apples, made butter and sampled different kinds of apples with various dips. The kids were encouraged to dress in farm clothes. Ella had seen this fabric at the store and we thought it would be perfect for farm outfits. She really liked how it turned out. Of course I had to put e-i-e-i-o on Olivia's since she says it all the time.

Friendly Reminder

Don't forget to glance in the potty before using it.

There just might be a rubber ducky floating in there.

It's real sad when you don't see the poor duck until it's too late!

Thanks a lot Olivia.

Ella Funnies

It has been awhile since I have shared some of the funny things that Ella says. The other day after I picked her up from school we had the following conversation...

Ella: I am going to marry Ethan.

Me: Really? Does he know about this?

Ella: Well, I asked him today and he said "no way", but you told me that when boys are mean to me that just means they like we're gonna get married!

And when we were eating dinner we had this conversation...

Ella: Did you know I am perfect.

Me: Well, nobody is perfect.

Ella: Uh, yes I am. You told me that God made me perfect just the way I am, so that means I am perfect.

Don't you love it when they listen to EVERY single word you say. How is it that they don't seem to hear you when you tell them to clean their room or brush their teeth?

I'm A Survivor

I have been trying to survive all of the different projects and events that have been going on around here lately. Between my sister's wedding, camping, and sewing I feel like I am always finishing a project just to start a new one.

For example. See all these dalmatian shirts...

Ella's school has Survivor day each year. It is a day full of fun activities to help promote teamwork. The students have to complete different task like building a bridge to escape from an enemy tribe. They collect gold after each activity and turn it in at the closing ceremony. They then compete together in tug-of-war with other classes in their grade. They make signs in Art class displaying their tribe's name and typically all wear the same color to show they are all in the same tribe. Ella's class was the dalmatians and her teacher thought it would be cute if they all had shirts with dalmatian spots on them. So the other room mom and me got busy sewing lots of spots. It took a lot of time but they turned out so cute.

Her teacher also wants to have class night out every so often throughout the year. Tonight we are all going bowling. Well, you can't go bowling without a pair of bowling pants.

My current project is dresses for Ella and Olivia to wear to the Pumpkin Patch on Sunday. Have I started yet? No. But they will be finished by Sunday (hopefully).
